This isn’t just an app to scan product barcodes and check for vegan options, locate vegan-friendly cafés, or explore a vast library of vegan food, drinks, and beauty products. It’s a mission. Every scan, every search, and every discovery contribute to a world where animals aren’t exploited at the hands of humans.

Unlike typical apps driven by profit, Fussy Vegan Pro was built on the unwavering commitment of longtime vegan Ken Goldstein, who’s poured his heart, life savings, and countless hours into creating this resource.   • Is the app the same on iOS and Android devices?
    Fussy Vegan Pro is optimised for both iPhone and iPad, so the iOS version includes a few more features than the Android version. Since most users are on iOS, development is prioritised there to make the biggest impact. But if you’re on Android, like me, you’ll still enjoy a great experience with all the core functions! Just keep in mind that iOS may have a few additional features.
  • Does the app cost?
    Imagine photographing every product in a supermarket, verifying each ingredient list, and curating a complete list of vegan-friendly restaurants across the country - it's a huge, ongoing task! But Fussy Vegan and A Guide to Vegan take care of it all (and so much more) to make life easier for you. Hundreds of hours go into the app each week to ensure accuracy and quality. To support this effort, the app has a small cost, kept affordable and ad-free to ensure accessibility for as many people as possible. One-time fee: The app costs a one-off fee of $19.99 NZD to download on the Apple App Store or $12.99 NZD via the Google Play Store. Your support keeps the app affordable and packed with the resources to make vegan living easy!
  • I'm in NZ but seeing products available only in Australia!
    The last thing you want is to see a bunch of delicious vegan products that you can't access! To make it so you only see products and services available in New Zealand, updates your settings in the app so that it's set to New Zealand availability only. Learn how to do this here.
  • The barcode I scanned doesn't work
    With the thousands of products in supermarkets and frequent changes to barcodes, keeping the database updated is an ongoing task. If you scan a product and it doesn’t appear, thank you for your patience! What to do if this happens: Try manually searching for the product in the app. If it still doesn’t show up, please submit a support ticket through the app to request it be added to the database. Your help makes the app even better for everyone!
  • My favourite vegan product isn’t in the app
    If a product you love is missing, please take a moment to submit a ticket within the app - this way, it can be added for you and other vegans to enjoy! Submitting a request is quick and easy through the app, and if you need help, there’s a tutorial available here.
