There is a vegan bakery in Ōtautahi that I am a huge fan of, not just because it is 100% vegan but, because everything I have ever purchased from them has been so damn scrumptious! In addition to the yummy taste, the kai they make is beautiful, as in stunning to look at. If you want to take a vegan cake to a party that is going to give a real wow-factor, then this bakery is where you need to order from!
I'm talking about Upbeet Kai - a small vegan, family owned business.

They make a wide range of cakes - you can pick from their yummy range of flavours and beautiful designs. Perfect for birthdays, weddings, baby showers and any special occasion.
I've ordered a cake from Upbeet Kai for a friends baby shower and for my partners 40th birthday - this one is pictured below. This was a medium (19.5 cm diameter) Vanilla Sponge cake - vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream, a generous layer of raspberry and chia compote in between layers and decorated with local strawberries, herbs and dried orange. It's made to serve 8-10 people and cost $70. All of the ingredients were listed nicely on a tag too so people knew exactly what they were earing.
Both cakes were a huge hit, even amongst the non-vegans!

Catering
They can take small-scale catering orders where they can make both sweet and savory items. It's best to talk to them directly about what you're after!
